Level of difficulty ★★★☆ (easy)

떡 볶 이

‘Tteok’ means ‘Rice cake’ in Korean. Tteokbokki(Ddeokbokki or topokki) is very popular Korean food. It is one of the best dish I can cook! There are many kinds of Tteobokki like pasta. It depends on ingredients and sauce. Today I’m gonna make homemade Tteokbokki by using ingredients in my home as usual.

※ You need…

Rice cakes, Fish cakes, Boiled Eggs

Vegetables(Onion, Mushroom, Cabbage, Green Onion…)

For sauce : Red pepper paste(Gochujang), Minced garlic, Ketchup, Soy sauce, Sugar

1. Boil rice cakes until they are soft. (It could be sticky, so keep stiring)

2. Put fish cakes and vegetables

3. Add some Red pepper paste, Minced garlic, Ketchup, Soy sauce and Sugar.

(If you don’t want it too spicy, don’t put too much red pepper paste first. You’d better put more paste after you taste it when it’s not spicy at all.)

4. Keep stiring until they are well mixed and seasoned.

The color will be changed from white to red like the pictures above.

(You can add more water or sauce if you need.)

5. Finally, add boiled eggs. Now it’s done!!!!

Eat up !

Here are some pictures of different kinds of Tteokbokki.
